Wave Start Details
In an effort to ease congestion along the course the race features wave starts. Simply put, a wave start consists of staggered starts of groups instead of one giant start for all participants.

Runners are placed in “waves” consisting of other runners of a similar pace. Each wave has its own start with a short “time cushion” between each wave. In short, we hope the wave start creates a safer, more enjoyable experience for all participants.

Wave Start Times

Start Time Wave Pace
7:45 am Wave 1 Under 9:15 min. per mile;

8:00 am Wave 2 Between 9:16 and 10:30 min./mi.

8:15 am Wave 3 Between 10:31 and 12 min./mi.

8:30 am Wave 4 Runners/walkers Between 12:01 and 20 min./mi.

Course Time Limit: 4 Hours from the Wave 4 Start Time. Roads open to traffic at 12:30 pm.
